Habit Stacking, Made Simple
Habit stacking means placing a small new action directly after something you already do regularly. The familiar action becomes the cue that reminds you what comes next. For example, you might refill your water bottle after breakfast or prepare tomorrow’s clothes after brushing your teeth. Research suggests that both routine-based and time-based cues can support habit formation, but repeatedly completing the action when the chosen cue occurs is especially important.
